    The Sant Carles de la Ràpita Municipal Tourism Department organises various gastronomic festivals with the aim of disseminating the quality of the local products and the traditional seafood and delta cuisine. The restaurants of La Ràpita and the farmers and food producers of the Terres de l’Ebre (the Ebre Lands) take part in these festivals. They serve as a focal point to bring together the different socioeconomic agents who participate and they have led to the creation of the Cuisine of La Ràpita and the Ebro Delta Collective, the objective of which is to promote the main economic activities of Sant Carles de la Ràpita: tourism and gastronomy.
     
    We are therefore pleased to present the Cuisine of La Ràpita and the Ebro Delta Collective, whose aim is to take advantage of different ethical and cooperative management and promotion tools to those traditionally used, in order to satisfy modern promotional needs. It was also decided that it would be opportune to join and promote the Cuisine of Catalonia Collectives gastronomic platform, with the collaboration of fifteen restaurateurs from Sant Carles de la Ràpita and 15 agricultural and food producers from the Terres de l’Ebre.The Cuisine of Catalonia Collectives are basically local groupings of restaurants and other gastronomic establishments whose culinary proposals are based on the cuisine of the territory and the sourcing of local, high quality ingredients. This movement is a working platform for the joint promotion of Catalonia as a quality destination and international benchmark for gastronomic tourism.
     
    The First Edition of the Cuisine of La Ràpita and the Ebro Delta CollectiveGastronomic Conference was attended by experts in collaborative competition, within the framework of Catalan gastronomy, and managers of the Quality Agricultural and Food Products of the Terres de l’Ebre. They oriented the participants on how to contribute to the gastronomic promotion of our cuisine, our products and our territory, with the aim of establishing quality links between restaurateurs and the farmers and food producers of the Terres de l’Ebre, as well as other global gastronomic networks.
